New Naturals began life in 2010 as a small woman-owned company serving southwest Virginia and the New River Valley with livestock feed from New Country Organics. Our offerings expanded to include culinary and medicinal spices for humans, and in 2015, our online site began to ship high quality spices nationwide. In 2016, New Naturals became the US supplier for the Doug English (now Turmeric Life) line of turmeric products.
Recently, the founder's son and daughter-in-law joined the business, and in 2022, New Naturals moved from its original location in Stuart, Virginia, to a new and much larger facility in Suffolk, Virginia. We now also grow some of the herbs and spices that we sell locally and online.
Our intention is to bring you the very highest quality products that we can source or grow, along with valuable information on their use.
Douglas J. English, BVSc, Australian veterinarian who developed the now widely used "Golden Paste" recipe. Doug has been fascinated with the use of natural compounds throughout his 40-plus years of veterinary practice. In 2012, after several years of experimentation with turmeric in his veterinary clinic, Doug created the Turmeric User Group on Facebook, to gather anecdotal data on the use of turmeric and to advise on its use. Now numbering over 270,000 members worldwide, the group has gathered thousands of reports on the effective use of turmeric. In 2016, in response to member requests, Doug began to formulate turmeric products for both human and animal use. In addition to his role as CEO of Turmeric Life, Doug continues his veterinary practice and also serves on the ethics committee at QIMR Medical Research Institute in Brisbane, Australia.
