Banana Bread Smoothie
Our family calls this the "Banana Bread" Smoothie because it almost does taste like banana bread in a tall cool drink. I typically make it with full-fat milk (though my grandson prefers yogurt). The banana makes it thick enough that yogurt isn't really needed for that purpose. You could add other fruit, or substitute a different fruit for the banana (but banana and cinnamon really go well together). If you do use a different fruit with less body than a banana, you might want to make it with yogurt in order to have it a bit thicker. This is a great way to disguise golden paste if your family objects to the taste.

Contributor: Family recipe

1 cup milk or unflavored yoghurt per serving
1 medium banana per serving
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp Ceylon cinnamon
1 tsp (or your regular amount) golden paste (optional)

Add all the ingredients to the jar of a suitably sized blender or food processor. Pulse until you're happy with the consistency. Pour into a tall glass, add a sprig of mint, and enjoy! This makes one serving of about 14oz. Need to reduce the calories? Use just half a banana. Or make it for two people with twice as much milk or yoghurt and one whole banana. For a vegan smoothie, just substitute a non-dairy milk.
